COVID Guidance for audiences In order to keep our community as safe as possible, Barnstormers will be following government COVID guidance throughout our performances of ‘Best of Barnstormers’. As a part of our community we would like to suggest that people coming to see the show help the community keep safe by performing a lateral flow test on the day of your performance and by wearing mask if you are able to do so during the performance.
Breaking News! We have a new stage! In this week’s rehearsals we worked on perfecting and polishing all the numbers for the show ready for full run throughs next week. It was a joy to be able to run these numbers on our brand new stage which arrived just in time for Thursday’s rehearsal. Only two weeks left until opening night, so get your tickets now to avoid missing out!
Raising the roof with Raise Your Voice! This week we’ve been revisiting the singing and choreography for our Sister Act medley. 2018 was the year Barnstormers donned their wimples and put on their production of Sister Act. We chose to include this medley in Best of Barnstormers because of the love and joy that it brought to our cast. A real testiment to this is the fact the cast still remembered the majority of the routines!
Flash Bang Wallop - What a rehearsal! This week we’ve been learning the choreography for our Kipps: The New Half a Sixpence Musical medley. Kipps was our last show back in 2020 and it was very well received, so we hope you’re going to love seeing a selection of the big numbers from the show in Best of Barnstormers! The whole ensemble worked really hard to recreate the magic of this amazing show.
Tickets are now live for our next Barnstormers production “Best of Barnstormers”, a 20th anniversary show. After Covid-19 stopped us from meeting as a group it feels so good to be back together rehearsing for this show. Best of Barnstormers is a look back at the last 20 years of Barnstormers, made up of numbers from many of the excellent shows we have put on over the years such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sister Act, Anything Goes and so much more.
This week we’ve been singing and re-learning the Rent medley which we first performed back in 2014 as part of “Barnstormers Does Broadway”. It’s been really good fun to relive this wonderful medley, and we can’t wait to share it with you during our show run! Tickets will be available very soon, so keep an eye on the website for their launch!
Announcing our Jumble Sale - Saturday 4th September at Patcham Methodist Church, Ladies Mile Road. 11am - 1pm. Entry 50p, refreshments will be available in our coffee bar. Loads of bargains for sale. If you wish to donate jumble (no furniture please) you can drop it to the Church between 7.30pm and 10pm this Friday Friday 3rd September.
After a weekend of hard work and more trips up and down a scaffold tower than I would have liked, we’ve finished! Amazing work by Gary Robertson, building our new fixed set and now we’ve finished fire proofing the front and painting the ceiling. This was a massive team effort and thank you so much to all those tagged in this post for your help. Rehearsals start next week for our next show and I know how excited everyone is!
We’re thrilled to be launching our next show “Best of Barnstormers” with our cast this week. Our show introduction night will be run online due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. If you’re thinking of joining us for this show, then please do get in touch so we can send you an invitation! The show has everyone’s favourite numbers from past Barnstormers productions, including numbers from Sister Act, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rent, Anything Goes and many many more.
We have had a few ticket returns from people who have unexpectedly been unable to take up their seats, so there are now just a few tickets available for the Friday Evening and Saturday Matinee performances. Please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. See you there!
