Bringing Our Frozen Company Together
The audition process is often one of the most nerve-wracking yet rewarding phases of any production. It’s a moment where potential meets possibility, and where a vision for a show truly begins to take shape. For our Barnstormers production of Frozen, this stage was especially meaningful.
Our goal throughout this process has been to create an environment that is supportive, creative, and fun. We believe that auditions shouldn’t be about achieving perfection; rather, they are a chance for us to see how each performer interprets a character and to discover the unique energy they bring to the room.
The Audition Journey
The path to our final cast list involved careful deliberation. When we look at casting, we are not just looking for the strongest singer or the most experienced actor in isolation; we are looking for the right combination of voices, personalities, and skills that will help bring the world of Arendelle to life.
It was a challenging but truly wonderful experience to see so much talent in the room. We spent a great deal of time ensuring that the ensemble and individual roles were cast to create the strongest possible foundation for the show, balancing the specific needs of the musical with the desire to give as many people as possible the chance to participate.
An Inclusive Approach
At Barnstormers, we are committed to equal opportunities. We strive to cast based on a performer’s comfort level, their stated preferences, and the essence of the storytelling. We are proud to welcome a company where diverse ages, backgrounds, and identities can come together to tell this story. Whether a performer is stepping into a featured role or joining the ensemble, every member of our company brings something essential to the table.
What Happens Next?
With our company now assembled, the real magic begins. We have already started the transition from the audition phase into the hard work of rehearsals—blocking scenes, refining choreography, and learning the music. It is a journey of collaboration, where the support of the entire cast and crew is what will ultimately make this production a success.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who shared their time and talent with us during the audition process. To our cast: we are so pleased you have decided to be a part of this journey. The show is going to be fantastic, and we are so lucky to have such a vibrant group of people working together to make it happen.
We can’t wait to get started—let the rehearsals begin!
