Broadway Comes to Patcham - Get Involved!
Barnstormers will be presenting Anything Goes from 19th - 21st May 2022.
With music and lyrics by the legendary Cole Porter, and stars such as Ethel Merman, Elaine Page and Sutton Foster, Anything Goes is a charming, Boy-Meets-Girl, zany, romantic and funny show which has been delighting its audiences ever since it was first performed on Broadway in 1934.
Please join us aboard the ocean liner S. S. American, where nightclub singer/evangelist Reno Sweeney is en route from New York to England, her pal Billy Crocker has stowed away to be near his love, Hope Harcourt, but the problem is Hope is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Joining this love triangle on board the luxury liner are Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, and his sidekick-in-crime Erma. With the help of some elaborate disguises, tap-dancing sailors and good old-fashioned blackmail, Reno and Martin join forces to help Billy in his quest to win Hope’s heart.
With all time-favourite numbers such as Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You and the block-busting title song Anything Goes, you are guaranteed a voyage of a lifetime.

If you are thinking of joining Barnstormers, Anything Goes is an excellent show to get started with. It is a classic ‘all-singing, all-dancing’ show with plenty of opportunities to display your talents whether they be singing, dancing, acting or all three. With 27 named parts and a large chorus of ships crew and passengers there is something for everyone. Equally, if your talents lie off-stage we need help with set design and construction, stage management, sound, lighting and all the other hundred and one jobs that contribute to the staging of a successful show.
Our Introduction Night for cast and crew will be held in the main hall at Patcham Methodist Church, Ladies Mile Road, Brighton on Thursday 2nd December at 7:30pm. Rehearsals start Thursday 6th January and are on Thursday and Friday evenings.
