About Chris:
Chris is an Oxfordshire based Musical Director and Instrumentalist working with amateur dramatic societies and youth theatre groups in the Oxford and Banbury area.
So.......what is he doing playing for Barnstormers' productions? Well, buy a ticket to see the next production, and ask him.
Joe Gerard
(Instru)mentalist
Trumpet, Guitar, Drums, Ego
Favourite musical / show: Just So (Barnstormers) or West Side Story
About Joe:
There are many loveable people in the world; Joe is one of them. He continues to blast out wonderfully ear-piercing notes on the trumpet despite years of trying to persuade the Musical Director that he was no longer prepared to play anything but the sound desk. The audience will never forget his brave performance at A Night of the Movies whilst attempting to play trumpet and run the sound desk at once. Now with Thoroughly Modern Millie’s brass riffs firmly under his belt he is now back for good. Joe is secretly a great fan of JLS and admits to enjoying a night out at the Brighton Centre bopping along with the rest of the teenage girls. He has played drums or trumpet for many other shows including: Seussical, Honk!, The Wiz, Godspell, Joseph, Robin Hood and sound for Just So.
Alex Harrington
Drums / Percussion
Favourite musical / show: Anything Goes / Beauty and the Beast
About Alex:
Alex spends most of his time at Barnstormers keeping the rest of the band in time, although he has a penchant for things of a technological persuasion too. A previous holder of the much coveted Barnstormers Musical Adversity Award, Alex recently took on the challenge of playing some tuned percussion parts for Beauty and the Beast. He looks forward to joining the band for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat in 2012, although some of the musical's more challenging percussion parts fill him with trepidation!

Lea Khalil
Oboe/Cor Anglais
Favourite musical / show:
About Lea:
This is Lea’s first show with Barnstormers and is an experience she is sure she will never be able to forget. She is no stranger to musical theatre having played oboe for a huge variety of local musicals, operas and concerts. When Lea is not playing music (which is a rare experience for her) she can be found sipping lemon tea and enjoying a bag of Revels. She considers that knowledge of her favourite could be taken down and used in evidence against her – she has therefore not disclosed this information. Lea would love to own a pet pig and her favourite Disney character is Winnie the Pooh.

Hannah Pool
Keyboards
Favourite musical / show:
About Hannah:
My job in the band is to play the scores for whichever instruments haven't already been covered - so far this has included strings, accordian, xylophone and even some very odd sounding vocal parts in Just So. I also can provide trills of varying lengths to cover long scene changes. For Beauty, I'm pleased to say that Russell has found such a large band that I have only one score to play from - lucky really as I'm trying to do my medical finals at the same time as playing for this.
Russell Taylor
Musical Director
Piano/Keyboard/Bassoon
Favourite musical / show: Honk, Just So, Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie
About Russell:
Russell would love to be able to play the bassoon. But in the meantime he is continuing his role as Musical Director; something he's been delighted to have done within Barnstomers and its previous incarnations for 12 years. Admittedly the biggest challenge of the role is not in guiding the cast through the many challenges of the varied musical scores they have attempted over the years, but in keeping the band under control. He’s found this achieved most effectively via a wide repertoire of different shoulder shrugs. In his "spare" time he continues to practice playing the bassoon.
Peter Webb
Bass Guitar
Favourite musical / show:
About Peter:
Peter is better known to the cast and crew of Barnstormers as Peter “I Sell a Lot of Tickets” Webb. His one wish would be for Brighton and Hove Albion to be promoted to the Premiership and stay there (Ed: Never mind Peter). Peter has too many favourite songs to list here but admits that he has probably played most of them. He has played bass for numerous shows including: Titanic, Beauty and the Beast, Dick Patchington, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Trouble in Pantoland, A Night at the Movies, Just So, Anything Goes, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Aladdin, Godspell, Joseph, Oliver and Fiddler on the Roof.
About Chris:
Chris is an Oxfordshire based Musical Director and Instrumentalist working with amateur dramatic societies and youth theatre groups in the Oxford and Banbury area.
